Our local banquets are a ton of fun. There is a live auction, silent
auction, gun and other raffles, games, and more.
In past years, we've had a John Wayne impersonator, flint knapper,
and a laser gun shooting booth.

Not all activities are in a class or large group atmosphere. Break-out
sessions offer hands on training in things like; canoeing, shotgun shooting,
rifle and handgun shooting, first aid, and of course, turkey calling. |

JAKES Day
.
Jakes (Juniors Acquiring Knowledge Ethics and Safety) is where
the future of turkey hunting starts,
so we spend a large part of our efforts, time and money on these
events.
This is an excellent chance to get kids interested by offering hands
on turkey and hunting related activities.

Youth Hunts
We try to co-sponsor a couple
youth hunts each year.
These are typically run with
the Texas Youth Hunting Program and
the Texas Wildlife Association.

Member Shots
Here is our pay off. Almost all of our
active committee members are also active turkey hunters. We want more turkeys
in the woods, so we can enjoy the thrill of a gobbling, strutting tom turkey
in front of us more often. And, every once in awhile, we even shoot one
of them.
